Just like humans, animals are beings with feelings and sentience; they therefore deserve to be treated with respect. Nonetheless, their welfare has been increasingly compromised and survival threatened by human activities. The same applies to nature and the Earth as a vulnerable ecosystem. This ecosystem has been affected in numerous ways by human activities and thrown out of balance as a result. The destruction of the living environment and the violation of the rights of living beings must be brought to an end. In order to achieve this, a civilising offensive is necessary that is comparable to earlier struggles against the oppression of women, children and slaves. The reverential treatment of animals, people and nature thus takes centre stage in the Party for the Animals’ manifesto. The Party for the Animals seeks to achieve this goal in a variety of ways.
